Annapolis, Maryland—IT directors concerned with the rising cost of parts and inventory management can now achieve a higher level of control with a new tool—Mobilized Asset Management by ARINC Managed Services (AMS), LLC.
Mobilized Asset Management adds mobile data access and updating capabilities to ARINC's proven asset management and inventory control solutions. It reduces paperwork and delays for field technicians while facilitating a highly accurate parts inventory that is updated daily, helping protect the significant monetary investment in an organization's spare parts and equipment inventory.

"This new mobile solution gives service technicians the ability to update asset information in real time, on location, while actually performing preventive maintenance or resolving trouble tickets on the floor."
The system uses Windows-compatible portable devices (PDAs) combined with bar code scanning. Field users can simply scan a bar code to identify an asset or query the current inventory. Updated asset information can be entered at any time, and all data is synced back to the main inventory database at the end of each day.
Mobilized Asset Management is a catalyst for better inventory control. Technicians can update asset information whenever parts and equipment are moved on the floor, without paperwork or any need to go back and manually update the database. This results in up-to-the-minute equipment data any time it is required, and cost savings due to improved inventory management.
Related asset information can also be stored and accessed for capital equipment, spare parts and consumables. In addition, software of firmware versions can be recorded. Calendar alerts can be included for routine and preventive maintenance, warranties, and required inspections. Flexible report generation capabilities, such as Asset History or Asset Retirement, are also included.
