Remote Server Monitoring and Server Management Service
Core applications—and the data that drives them—are a company’s lifeblood. And because these applications are mission critical to key business processes, it is imperative that they are constantly available. The first step in delivering highly available applications is monitoring, managing and maintaining the servers on which they reside. On average, 70% of an organization’s IT budget is spent on maintaining applications and infrastructure. For many businesses, however, investing in expensive monitoring tools and the technology staff to maintain applications 24x7 just isn’t cost effective. Without the proper tools and trained staff, key applications and core business processes are vulnerable. How can companies protect their infrastructure and prevent expensive downtime without destroying the bottom line? They turn to ARINC Managed Services (AMS) to handle their server monitoring needs
AMS provides 24x7 remote server monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting to meet these challenges. Through economies of scale, AMS can virtually eliminate server downtime while drastically reducing server support costs. In addition, ARINC can manage the entire server stack from the hardware through the database and applications.

Server Maintenance
AMS routinely performs essential maintenance on all of our client’s servers. Server maintenance includes deploying service packs, upgrades and security patches as well as clearing cache files and defragmenting hard drives. AMS tests all software upgrades prior to deployment to insure network stability.
Server Management
AMS provides strict control over server configurations and processes. Often a small configuration change on a key system can create havoc across the network. By providing change management controls over server configurations, AMS can prevent associated issues from degrading network performance. At the customer’s request, AMS can also provide moves, adds and changes on key servers, including Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.
Remote Server Monitoring and Troubleshooting
Before deployment, AMS’ engineers perform a thorough assessment, creating baseline thresholds for over 20 processes on each server. AMS then deploys state-of-the-art monitoring tools through a highly secure connection. When a server process exceeds the established thresholds, the server monitoring tools send automatic alerts to ARINC’s certified server technicians. Upon receiving the alert, AMS’ server technicians immediately begin troubleshooting the problem until it is resolved – quickly fixing a small problem before it becomes a large one.
Backup Monitoring
AMS provides daily monitoring of tape or disk backups to insure the security of vital data for disaster recovery.
Customer Portal
AMS provides our customers with a secure, customized web portal to provide real-time and historical reporting of server availability and performance.
